Mission Driven

In December of 2016, our lives were changed forever when our youngest son, Brooks Tonn, a 9-year old Hinsdale Little League and Red Dog Baseball All-Star, Hinsdale Falcon quarterback, and all around great kid was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.

The battle with pediatric cancer is a horrible nightmare no child or family should ever have to experience. Yet, like most children, Brooks never gave up hope and through it all, he was always more concerned about the well-being of others than he was about himself. Even though Brooks ultimately lost his battle with cancer in December of 2017, the courage he displayed throughout his treatment inspired the start of the Brooks Strong Foundation - a 501(c)(3) pediatric cancer foundation with a mission of granting scholarships to kids going through cancer treatment, raising awareness, and funding research to help kids fighting cancer.

Two Part Mission

Providing Grants

Brooks Strong helps families that are dealing with the financial hardships of cancer treatment by providing grants for kids ages 8 to 18 to continue in a sport or extracurricular activity. No child should have to miss out on the joy of participating in an activity they love because family resources are stretched thin by medical expenses.
